Search: Red

When you enter “red” into the search, this is only a few delights that you will find. Red is a stand alone color, but it works with so many others. It’s power, love & fun all wrapped up into one fabulous color.

Pin & Tack Hearts Animal Place

Pin & Tack loves Animal Place and let me count the ways . . .

1. Animal Place provides a permanent home to animals from farms (big & small), slaughterhouses, and research facilities.

2. Animal Place “strives to create meaningful change for farmed animals through advocacy and education.”

3. Animal Place promotes veganism through publications and cooking classes.

For February, Pin & Tack will be supporting Animal Place with $1 from every item sold at the shops.  However, I always encourage you to donate directly.

Your support will help this organization continue to provide the animals everything they need to have a healthy, happy life. And every animal deserves that!

It’s Time To Party With The Dogs

Let’s celebrate the dogs! All month long, Pin & Tack is by giving $1 from every item sold at the shop to Dogs For The Deaf. They rescue dogs, providing them with training to give independence to people. It’s why dog is man’s best friend – woman’s, too!

Dogs Need Emergency Care, Too!

Yes, they most certainly do! And Dogs for the Deaf understands that.

Dogs for the Deaf provides support to its dogs and people throughout their lives. This includes medical care, which is paid for through their Emergency Vet Fund.

Dogs for the Deaf, Inc.’s mission is to rescue and professionally train dogs to help people and enhance lives, maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue and all people we serve.”

Nancy & Harley

Dogs are rescued, trained, then provided a forever home with a person who is deaf, autistic or has other challenges. Dog and person create meaningful relationships that benefit both greatly! These partnerships are supported by Dogs for the Deaf throughout their lifetimes.

5 Facts You May Not Know About Pigs

I am donating $1 from each item at Pin & Tack sold to Pigs Peace Sanctuary, who provides a safe haven for abused, neglected and/or unwanted pigs.

Many people are raised to only view pigs as “food.” A commodity to be be used, abused and disregarded. However, they are intelligent, social creatures.

Did you know . . . ?

– Pigs are more intelligent than dogs or 3-year-old humans.

– Pigs are clean animals. They will not soil the areas that they sleep or eat in.

– Pigs prefer to eat slowly and savor their food. They do not “pig out.” Also, they can be picky eaters. Like humans, they develop food preferences.

– Pigs will wag their tails when they are content & happy.

– Pigs are affected by seasons. During the winter when its gray & gloomy, they may be irritable and sleep more. While in the Spring, they are energized and “dance” about.

– Pigs may have poor eyesight, but their sense of smell is great!

I encourage you to learn more about pigs and donate either time or money to protect & support these amazing animals. To get you started, discover all there is to know about Pigs Peace Sanctuary.

People Are Fish, Too!

[Sophie Metcalfe and I met via Vegans Worldwide. She is the first of what I hope will be many vegan artists and crafters that I will introduce to you. Thank you, Sophie, for sharing yourself & your art with us!]
“I sell my illustration prints inspired by divinity, the ethereal and spirituality. I’m planning on adding vegan-inspired art into my shop. I would like to do original watercolors with a positive energy to them. Maybe get postcards & greeting cards made from them to spread the vegan love!”
We’re All The Same . . .
“I’m a 22 year old Textile and Surface Design student; however, I have a passion for all art. My shop name originated from an illustration I did (of a fish), in which I wanted to portray the only thing that separates an animal from a human is the body. If you look beyond this, we’re all the same.”
“And this is the reason why I’m vegan. You look into the eyes of an animal and you see purity. There’s really no justification or reason to hurt or harm an animal in anyway.”
Be The Change You Wish To See . . .
“I’m a big believer in revolution and change! It was that Gandhi quote that got me. ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world.’ I realised revolution is possible, it is just ourselves that stop it.”
Believe In The Impossible . . .
“I believe in the impossible. The dream is to live in the country with lots of rescued animals and a big organic fruit & vegetable garden. I would love to live in a world that didn’t revolve around
money. I hope to go travelling one day.”
“I support C-A-L-F. They rescue farm animals and have a vegan cafe near where I live. They’re a non-profit and all the funds go to the animals.”
